Tikboy is boring

When Misis Tikboy posted the thing about my "singing" to her, I blushed. I don't know. It's not that I don't want to. I want to. I just don't have that enough courage to sing to her whenever she feels the urge to hear my voice. Funny, I have always imagined myself in a big concert hall, bar or something with her. Then in a spur of emotion I would just get up and grab the microphone from the lead vocalist performing on stage and then blurt out a stanza or two for her. I wanted to surprise her, do something unexpected because as she would always say to me, ang boring mo Mahal.

Once in a while I would have crazy thoughts of appearing on Ellen Degeneres' show just to propose to her in front of national TV. I would say that to her and she would look at me and say, Wag na wag mong gagawin 'yan! Napakaloko mo!

I love Misis Tikboy.. I always have and will always will. Nothing or no one could ever replace the original - my first and my last.

I love you Mahal.

You Take My Breath Away

I thought it was just like her any other voice mail... The usual "Musta ka na Mahal ko? I miss you... I love you...." thing. I was irritated when I went to work. She knew it so sabi ko, malamang nag-aalala. I dialed 123.

I carefully listened... and I cried.

There it was in my voice mail... her voice... she was singing... singing to me..

Unexpected. I never imagined she was going to do that. Ramdam na ramdam ko na mahal na mahal nya ako while she was singing.. kung gano ako ka-importante sa kanya.

Alam nyo, palagi ko sya kinukulit na kantahan nya ako. "Kahit isang stanza lang mahal...sige na.. please..sasabayan kita..." It would take a lot of prodding and encouragement from me before she belts out a hum that would turn into a couple lines of a song...

This time, she sang the whole song.

And that voicemail is the most cherished thing that I have in my blackberry now...

Thank you Mahal... You again took my breath away.

Aftermath

Ang tagal kong di nakapag-post. Bigla kasing nag-iba ang schedule ko at naging floater ako mula nung bumalik ako galing sa apat na araw na bakasyon. Almost everyday sa iba-ibang facility ako naka-duty. Hati-hati ang oras ko, minsan hinihiram ako sa gabi para samahan ang mga mas bago sa akin. O di kaya naman sa umaga at maghapon para umasiste sa mga datihan na. Ngayong week lang medyo umaayos at nagkakalinaw kung saan ba talaga ako. Di ko na nga namalayan na anim na araw na pala akong nagta-trabaho. Napansin ko lang na nagiging bugnutin na si Misis Tikboy kasi siya ang nagmo-monitor ng schedule ko at alam niyang kailangan ko na ng pahinga. Kaya kagabi, humingi na ako ng kahit isang araw man lang na off.

Hmmm.. saan ba ako magsisimula? Sa daming nangyari sa apat na araw na magkasama kami ni Misis Tikboy, hindi ko na alam kung saan ko sisimulan. Hehehe! Pero teka, tingnan natin at baka ma-trigger ng pictures na ito..

Sa BART, sinalubong ko siya galing ng SFO Airport. Mukha kaming puyat no? Excited kasi!

Hulaan niyo kung saan ito.. susme! Parang dinaanan ng bagyo!

Bumili na ako ng City Pass, sulit kasi madaming kasama sa package. Kaso naman, kulang ang apat na araw para mapuntahan namin lahat ng mga dapat puntahan! Kaya pala valid ang City Pass for nine days. 'Yun pala ang usual time na talagang maiikot mo lahat ng nakasama sa package.

Nag-side trip pa kasi kami sa Sausalito imbes na mag-stay lang sa Pier 39/Fisherman's Wharf, almost half day din kami dun. Na-delay pa ang dating ng ferry pauwi at kinailangan namin dumiskarte ni Misis Tikboy para makasakay kami agad. Pinoy ini! Di maiisahan! Hahaha! Kaya heto, super lamig to the max ang inabot namin sa top deck. Hehehe!

Sa last day ni Misis Tikboy sinubukan namin ikutin ang Golden Gate Park gamit ang aming "wheels" tingnan niyo naman...



Lumawit talaga ang dila ko at nagsabi ako kay Misis Tikboy na nagtsi-chest pain na ako sa pagod ng kakapadyak dito! Hehehehe! Ang ending, hindi namin napuntahan ang Exploratorium na gustong-gusto sana ni Misis Tikboy.. di bale, pagbalik na lang niya. Dami pa namin pwedeng puntahan dito sa San Francisco!

She ordered a raspberry iced tea, I ordered a pickled tink drink. Pinatikim ko si Misis Tikboy, nagustuhan niya. Ang ending, umorder din siya! Hahahaha!

We ate dinner at Hard Rock Cafe Pier 39 during our last night together at SFO. Actually we went to Castro district to check what's in it since JR, the guy at the reception kept raving about it. We took the F line cable car and got off at the last stop. Me and Misis Tikboy just walked along and observed the night life there. We wanted to eat rice so we looked for an Asian diner. When we couldn't find anything that looks and smells nice we decided to go back to Pier 39 to eat. Sabi ko pa nga sa kanya, mukhang napaghahalatang nagkaka-edad na kami kasi ayaw na namin ng maingay na night life. We just wanted to eat, sit back, relax and talk. Simple lang. Si Misis Tikboy nga ayaw pang mag-sink in nun age factor, she stopped at 25. Ako naman I kept counting since I just turned 35 last Friday.

Ganito lang kami ni Misis Tikboy, no fancy stuff. Just being together makes us whole. All these years... mahirap ipaliwanag kasi mahirap din hanapan ng sagot. Malalim eh. I'm just thankful that I have her in my life.

Oh BG, I can't stand it anymore

What do you do when you hear this phrase every five minutes since two in the morning? Well, get up and check on your patient. I've been up for almost three hours now because Harry keeps calling my name whenever he feels pain. I already gave him three pain pills in a span of four hours. I asked him if he wanted to go to the hospital but he said he does not want to, so I called it off. He said he could wait until the morning when the home health nurse checks in. But now he keeps on calling my name I could not sleep. I asked him if he wants me to be by his side to keep him company but he refuses. He said he does not want me to stay up because I still have morning tasks to do. But I could hear him beg right now while I'm in the staff room.

I can only do so much. I wish I have the gift to take the pain away.

Oh boy, I am really looking forward to my four day vacation!

The Errol Flynn Principle

...on holding a sword - not too loose, not too tight. Come to think of it, it is just like holding a bird. Squeezed too tight, it will die. Hold it loosely, it will fly away. Relationships are like that. I should know it by now. But oftentimes I slip. I hold on too tight that it suffocates the one I love.

I have to get a hold of myself before it's too late.

t-9 before the blast

Napaka loko mo.

Ito ang laging sinasabi sa akin ni Misis Tikboy. Paano kasi, sa tuwing hihirit ako sa kanya napapangiti siya sa mga salitang binibitawan ko. Hindi naman kasi mahirap pangitiin si Misis Tikboy, bungisngis kasi siya. Saka alam ko na kasi ang kiliti niya.. sa tagal na ba naming magkasama eh!

Magkausap kami kanina at ang sabi niya kailangan na daw niya talagang magbakasyon kasi pundido na siya sa trabaho niya. Baka kung ano maisipan niya at mag-step down bigla. Buti na lang at ilang araw na lang, magbabakasyon na siya. Kaya nga sabi ko sa kanya mag-countdown na kami..

Hmmmm.. kung anu man ang blast na 'yun kami na lang nakakaalam. Basta ang importante bakasyon galore kaming dalawa! Kaya nga kahapon kahit off ko, hindi ako umangal nung pinapasok nila ako. Kahit pa mag-9 days akong straight duty okay lang! Para hindi ako mainip sa paghihintay ng oras at araw.

Haaaay.. konti na lang! Yes! Hehehehe! Kahit pa pestehin ako ng mga pasyente ko, ngitian ko na lang. Isipin ko na lang, ilang araw na lang andito na si Misis Tikboy ko. Yihiiiiii!

Latin mass and Tourist spots at SFO

I finally devoted a day for tourist spots at SFO. But before I did that I went to St. Patrick's Church to hear mass. I did know that the mass will be conducted in Latin. I was surprised though that the gospel was read in English and the homily was delivered in English too. Inside the church there were several parol hanging. I smiled, halatang Pinoy ang nakakararaming miyembro ng parokya. I wondered if they held Simbang Gabi there. Hmmmm..

After the mass I went to Powell St. and waited in line for the cable cars. There were two cable cars going to the Fisherman's Wharf - Powell and Hyde and Powell and Mason. The ride cost me $10 roundtrip.

Most of the passengers were tourists like me. But they were smart enough to get a City Pass to get discounted fare rates to most of the tourist destinations. Getting a City Pass will give you unlimited rides to cable cars and Muni in downtown SFO. I better get one when Misis Tikboy arrives here. Hehehehe!


I went here before I walked towards the Wharf and Pier 39. What did I see? Just a bunch of old boats and old cars. It wasn't such an enjoyable sight.. not without Misis Tikboy. Kung magkasama kasi kami, kung anu-anong kalokohan na ang pinaggagawa ko! But I got to do an ocular visit of the place that we're going to visit. Magagalit kasi 'yun pag nawala kami! Hahahaha!


I wanted to eat lobster but I decided to save my money and let it go when I am with Misis Tikboy. So, I ended up eating here..


Saka na lang ako kakain sa restaurant pag kasama ko na si Misis Tikboy! Hehehehe! Kuripot talaga! Hindi rin kasi magi-enjoy kumain ng mag-isa.

At Pier 39.

Three in a row

I was hoping to get only a day off this week in preparation for next week. But I was surprised when I found out that I am taking a break for three days starting tomorrow. I was saving up my days off for Misis Tikboy's visit here. But what can I do? I've got the FTNG syndrome being the newbie in here.

So, I will start my day early tomorrow to do some exploration once again. Will ride the BART again and go to St. Patrick's on 756 Mission St. From there I will have to go where my feet leads me to. Probably to Fisherman's Wharf or Alcatraz, I don't know. I only got a couple of dollars in my pocket so I've got to budget it. That may limit my exploration but what the heck.. I've got to maximize the days and familiarize myself with the places that me and Misis Tikboy would go to once she's already here.

For now I'll take a shower before Misis Tikboy arrives from her shopping spree at Victoria's Secret.

Sabaw

Nagsawa na ako sa spam, corned beef, pritong itlog, calamari, bacon at noodles. Pag nasa Newman kasi ako 'yun ang madalas namin kainin ni Jason at Adrian. Mga tamad kasing kumain kaya hindi ako namomroblema sa kusina. Kaso nung na-assign ako dito sa Byron, pwersado akong magluto anim na beses sa isang araw! Tatlo para sa pasyente, tatlo ulit para sa aming mga staff. Susme! Natatawa nga si Misis Tikboy sa tuwing nagti-text ako o kaya magkausap kami sa telepono kasi wala akong ginawa kundi tumambay sa kusina pagkatapos kong hawakan ang mga pasyente. Sabi nga niya, gel na gel daw. Ngek! Hindi ko naman kasi turf ang kusina, ewan ko ba kung bakit dun ako na-destino! Kung ako papipiliin mas gusto kong humawak ng pasyente, mag-laundry at maglampaso ng sahig! Haaaay buhay!

Kanina pagkatapos kong magluto ng agahan, tinanong ko kung meron baboy o baka sa ref. Meron daw buto-buto sabi ni Kuya Ed. Sabi ko, subukan kong mag-sinigang. Papakuluan lang naman 'yun at palalambutin sabay sasamahan ng kamatis at sibuyas. tapos lalagyan ng seasoning at sitaw. Kaso walang sitaw kaya baguio beans na lang! Kaya hayun, mega luto naman ako. Pang apat na tao na niluto ko kasi baka kumain din si Kuya Lito at Ate Letty pagdating nila.

In fairness, masarap naman. Hehehe! Sa wakas nakahigop rin ng sabaw! Miss na miss ko na kaya humigop ng sabaw! Ehek!

Next week, pag dito ako ulit na-assign sinigang na baka naman o kaya nilagang baka ang gagawin ko. Mwehehehe!

Pet Boa

I was browsing a magazine last night (to curb my insane urge to throw my laptop) when I read this:

"A good relationship is a bit like a pet boa constrictor: either you feed it every day or bad things happen."

Hmmmm...

Haaay so true... Last night was a boa contrictor moment for me and my Tikboy. Nakalimutan ko "pakainin" kaya yan sinakal ako. Hirap talaga kapag magkalayo kami. Dapat ata sa amin, idikit ng super glue para matigil ang mga hibang moments na ito.

I shouldn't complain. Really.

Tikboy, years ago, was so permissive and so "deadma" to the point na nakakainis na sya. Hindi pala sita kaya naman feeling ko walang paki sa akin. Now, she is more vocal about everything - which I do love because she is showing me the real person inside her. Our relationship has gotten to that pinnacle stage that we basically know what's what when it comes to each other's personality.

Kaya naman, this early morning, maaga pa hinimas ko na itong pet boa ko...
